TO SHOOT AN ELEPHANT: Film Reporting on Gaza

On Monday, January 25, 2010 MidEast:JustPeace will host a dinner and movie screening of Alberto Arce and Mohammad Rujailah's documentary "To Shoot an Elephant" at the Warehouse Lounge, 221 Garland St. in Traverse City. Gather at 5:30 PM, plan to buy your own dinner and/or attend the free movie that will begin at 6:30 PM.

"To Shoot an Elephant" is an eye witness account from foreigners who managed to stay embedded inside the Gaza Strip ambulances with Palestinian civilians during the Israeli operation "Cast Lead" which began on December 27, 2008 and lasted through January 18, 2009. A Spanish reporter, present from the beginning of the war, documents the escalation of fatalities and destruction while following a medical relief operation, together with a Palestinian colleague. The documentary will be shown worldwide on January 18.
